Epic Universe opened on May 22, 2025 and it is now the largest Universal theme park in the United States. If you are bringing little ones, the first question most parents ask is simple. Do you rent a stroller at the gate, or bring one with you? Here is what it actually costs, and what the park rental can and cannot do.
How Big Epic Universe Really Is
The whole development covers 750 acres and roughly doubled the size of Universal Orlando Resort. The theme park itself is about 110 acres, which makes it the biggest Universal park in the country and the second biggest in the world, behind only Universal Studios Beijing.
The layout is five worlds arranged around a central hub called Celestial Park. Getting between them means real distance, and there is a lot of open ground in the middle. The paths are wide and smooth, which is good news for strollers, but the walking adds up fast.
What Epic Universe Charges
Stroller rentals at Epic Universe are $40 per day including tax. The rental location is immediately to your left once you walk through the entrance, so it is easy to find.
One thing worth knowing before you rely on it. The park rental strollers are large and hard sided, and a child needs to be able to sit upright in them. If you have an infant or a smaller toddler who still naps in the afternoon, they are not a great fit.
💡 Park strollers do not recline. For a child who still naps, that alone is usually the deciding factor.
The Math Over a Full Trip
At $40 a day, the cost climbs quickly:
- 3 park days at Epic Universe: $120
- 5 park days at Epic Universe: $200
- 7 park days at Epic Universe: $280
Our double stroller is $65 for one to three days and $85 for four to seven days, plus tax, delivered free to your hotel or vacation home and picked up when you leave. For a family doing several park days, the difference is not small.
What a Park Rental Cannot Do
The bigger issue is not the price, it is where the stroller is allowed to go. A park rental stays in the park. That means:
- Nothing at the airport or on arrival day
- Nothing at your hotel, at CityWalk, or walking to dinner
- Nothing on your Disney days or your rest days
- You queue for it every single morning and hand it back every night
A stroller delivered to your hotel is yours for the entire trip, from the day you land to the day you fly home.
Park Hopping Changed the Math in 2026
This is the part a lot of families have not caught up with yet. As of January 1, 2026, Universal park to park tickets of three days or longer include Epic Universe. Guests can now move freely between Epic Universe, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure on the same day, as often as they like.
That is a huge win for flexibility, and it also means a lot more walking. Families are now doing Epic Universe in the morning and Islands of Adventure at night. If your stroller belongs to a park, it does not come with you when you hop.
Practical Stroller Tips for Epic Universe
- There is designated stroller parking outside the attractions. Look for the signage, and always take valuables with you
- Celestial Park in the middle is open and stroller friendly, with fountains, gardens and wide paths, and it makes a good spot for a break
- The Family Care Center and First Aid are next to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Ministry of Magic, beside Universal Helios Grand Hotel
- Child Swap is available at every attraction, so one parent can wait with the little one and still ride
- Children under 3 get into Epic Universe free
- Height requirements run from 34 inches on family rides up to 54 inches on Stardust Racers, with most sitting between 40 and 48 inches
💡 Getting there matters too. Epic Universe sits a few miles from the original parks with its own entrance and parking. Universal hotel guests can take the free resort shuttle, and guests at Stella Nova can walk.
So Which Should You Do?
If you are visiting Epic Universe for one day and your child does not nap, the park rental is fine. Pay the $40, grab it on the way in, hand it back on the way out.
If you are staying several days, hopping between parks, travelling with a napper, or you want a stroller waiting at your hotel the moment you land, having one delivered works out cheaper and far less hassle.
